  Minimizing Mold Levels

Most people who have allergies worry about pollen. What they need to keep in mind is that while pollens are seasonal allergens, mold is always in season.
It prefers high humidity, warmth, and shady areas, and is found both indoors and out. Molds are at their peak during the summer and early fall, and you can usually find some outside on decaying leaves, wood and other vegetation, or inside near showers, attics, bathrooms, basements, carpets, and garbage cans. If you are sensitive to these microscopic plants here are a few suggestions from Allergy Control Products Inc.:

* Avoid basements, compost piles, fallen leaves, cut grass, barns, and wooded areas.
* Wear a face mask if you must cut grass, rake leaves, or expose yourself to other moldy areas.
* Carefully gauge the humidity level in your house. Keep it below 50%.
* Use fans to remove water vapor and humidity from the kitchen and the bathroom.
* Kill mold in your house with one of the many solutions sold to help you.
